The Director of God of War explains why Ragnarok will finish the Nordic saga
Following the first real glance to dios of the Ragnarok war thanks to the trailer of the recent PlayStation Showcase 2021, a large number of details about the video game have already been quickly clarified. For example, there was the first look at Thor and the recognition that dios of the Ragnarok war would actually end the Nordic history of the franchise. Inos de Guerra Ragnarok Director Eric Williams previously indicated that with a title as dios of the Ragnarok war, Ragnarok itself had to be included, which basically concludes things, but dios de la war (2018), the director Cory Barlog also recently offered an even more direct explanation.
«I think that one of the most important reasons is that the first game took five years, the second game, I do not know how long it will take, but I m going to say that it s going to take something similar, right, to do this , he declared Barlog during an interview with the Youtube Kaptain Kuba channel, and then if you think, Wow, a third in that same , we are talking like a span of about 15 years of a single story, and I feel that that is too extensive ».
«I feel that we are asking too much, to say it, that the real end of that story that takes so long feels too long, and given the place where the team was and in which Erik was with what I wanted to do, I was Like Look, I think we can do this in the second story «, Barlog continued. For most of what we were trying to do from the beginning was to tell something about Kratos and Atreus, that the core of the engine of history is really the relationship between these two characters and the complexity radiates as waves in a pond. And we could turn it into an ocean and make those waves extend for thousands of miles, but is that necessary and it is so beneficial, or we feel like, you know what, it is simply scattered too much, the waves separate too much? And you lose a little the plot .
